The Seattle Seahawks’ coaching staff was apparently watching what Utah did Saturday night when they were facing Oregon
Saturday night the Utah Utes obliterated the the Oregon Ducks, and they took out every weapon they had in the arsenal. Well, the Seattle Seahawks were apparently paying attention, because they decided that one of those weapons would be good to use on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
In the first quarter of this one, the Seahawks forced the Bears into a punting situation. Of course, with Tyler Lockett, the explosive rookie, back for the return, all eyes were on him. The Bears were determined to not let him get anything.
Yeah, well, the Seahawks were prepared to make them look really foolish.
Lockett looked up in the air and acted as if he was ready to field the punt. In actuality, though, the ball had gone to the other side of the field at Richard Sherman. The coverage team for the Bears drifted towards Lockett, while meanwhile, Sherman took the ball and nearly took it to the house. They thought Lockett had the fair catch — but, no!
Utah did the same thing to Oregon Saturday night in their 62-20 rout, and it seems as if the Bears were not watching that. The Seahawks were though.
