Troy Aikman not thrilled about Jerry Jones’ praise of Brandon Weeden
By Mike Dyce
Troy Aikman wasn’t thrilled about Jerry Jones praise of Dallas Cowboys back up quarterback Brandon Weeden.
The Dallas Cowboys are trying to keep their season churning along after losing star wide receiver Dez Bryant and star quarterback Tony Romo. That means everyone throwing their support behind back up quarterback Brandon Weeden.
For Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, that means heaping an absurd amount of praise on him that may or may not be true. In this case, Jones reportedly said that Brandon Weeden throws the prettiest ball he has ever seen.
That is high praise considering the Cowboys’ era under Jerry Jones has been headlined by the tenures of Troy Aikman and Romo, not to mention players like Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe.
That’s not even counting the countless opponents he’s seen play against the Cowboys in person.
As you can imagine, Aikman, arguably the best quarterback in Cowboys history, wasn’t too thrilled about it.
Aikman isn’t necessarily suggesting his ball was the prettiest Jones should have ever seen, but you have to think that is what he meant.
