The Green Bay Packers improved to 3-0 on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, winning 38-28 at Lambeau Field. Green Bay was dominant throughout the contest, leading 31-7 in the third quarter before going into the prevent defense and running the ball.

The Packers were able to sack Alex Smith six times, and got pressure on him at least another half-dozen times. Smith ended up throwing for 290 yards, but he was rancid until the game was over. It was a performance that set Twitter ablaze, and deservedly so.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers was nothing short of incredible once again. The NFL’s Most Valuable Player threw for five touchdowns without an interception, showcasing why he is the best player in the league. Rodgers torched Tyvon Branch and Marcus Cooper all night, leaving the Chiefs to wonder what happened.

2. James Jones

Jones looks like one of the best signings of the offseason. Jones was released by the New York Giants in training camp and latched on with the Packers after Jordy Nelson went down with a torn ACL. All Jones has done is catch a touchdown pass in each game, this time with seven catches and 139 yards.

3. Jamaal Charles

Charles was able to score three touchdowns, albeit with two of them coming in garbage time. So why is he a third star? Because Charles was able to rack up 82 total yards despite not having an ounce of blocking. Plus, three touchdowns is still a tremendous figure.

Odds

Green Bay was favored by seven points and covered the spread.

Next week
