We are coming to the close of week three of the NFL season and we have, as usual seen a lot of surprises. Some players have surprised us in a good way and some in a bad way. There are players that are doing better than what we thought and players who are doing worse than what we thought.
What we are going to try to look at today is what is causing these players to play the way they are and are they going to recover and regain the value that they were drafted at, or are they simply going to have an off-year. While we do not have a crystal ball, we can use the things that are a given and even try our best to decide if a player is a guy we should buy while his value is cheap or sell while before his value completely tanks out.
There is also a handful of players we will try to identify who I believe are on the verge of breaking out and could be a player that could change the trajectory of your fantasy football team’s season.

Larry Fitzgerald – Sell High
I believe Larry Fitzgerald is going to be a sell-high type of player. I think that he will likely continue to mix in a few effective games, but overall this almost has to be the highest we will see his value all season. If you can find someone who believes that Fitzgerald will turn in these numbers all year and will pay the price to acquire him then you have to let him go. I believe that as the season goes on we are highly likely to see John Brown become the more favored target by quarterback Carson Palmer.

Peyton Manning – Sell High
Peyton Manning has looked pretty rough all three weeks of this NFL season. You can see the pain in his eyes when throws the ball and everything. He has now put up two decent weeks worth of fantasy numbers and there is a strong chance his perceived fantasy value could never be higher. This is one of those gut feeling kind of calls for me, but I can tell you that I will be sending out some offers in the leagues that I own Manning in this week trying to get a deal done.

Antonio Brown – Sell High

I believe with the injury to Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown could actually take a bigger hit than what most of us are thinking. You have to at some point think that the Steelers are going to become much more dependent on the run and look to make Le’Veon Bell the centerpiece of this offense while Big Ben is healing from this injury. There is a chance I am wrong here and Roethlisberger could surpass our expectations and return sooner, but if he stays out until week 11 that could break your fantasy season. This is certainly something I would explore as a Brown owner.

Lamar Miller – Buy Low
Lamar Miller is currently not returning near the value that he was drafted at. He should be able to pick up the pace and find the end zone soon though. There pretty much is no one that could or should take snaps away from Miller so his job should be secure and the Dolphins seem intent on feeding him the rock and he has eight catches through three games which makes him a nice option for PPR leagues as well.

Jeremy Hill – Buy Low
Jeremy Hill may be the most disappointing back in all of fantasy football right now. He has not been anywhere near what those who drafted him have expected and he is likely available for pennies on the dollar. Hill is probably not a player that I would target in PPR leagues as he is more of an early down back, but I expect him to go nowhere but up from here. He should get on track and be a player that you can add to your fantasy team for a cheap price.

John Brown – Buy Low
John Brown was a player that was associated with quite a little bit of hype this preseason. He was known to be spending some extra time this off-season working with Carson Palmer and the chemistry between them has been very close to being evident. They have just missed on a couple of big plays and I believe that Brown is going to break out sooner than many of us expect. Brown is a guy that you will likely be kicking yourself if you don’t make a move and get him  before he blows up and slams this buy low window shut.
As always we thank you for stopping by and we wish you fantasy footballers the best of luck!
