Fantasy football week 3 recap: Studs, duds, and sleepers
RB Sleepers
Chris Johnson-Arizona Cardinals: Johnson turned in a big game in the Cardinals romp over the 49ers scoring a pair of touchdowns and finishing with 110 yards on 22 carries and adding 40 yards through the air. He was the better of the two Johnson’s filling in for Andre Ellington this week, and he’ll be a good play next week if Ellington remains sidelined.
LeGarrette Blount-New England Patriots: After Dion Lewis dominated the workload the first two games of the season, Blount got plenty of action against the Jaguars this week as the Patriots piled on in a 51-17 win. Blount ran for three touchdowns and 78 yards on his 18 carries after only having two carries in the first two games of the season.
Karlos Williams-Buffalo Bills: Williams has found the end zone in each of the first three weeks of the season and had his best game to date in Miami. He ran home a late, game-icing touchdown to finish with 110 yards on his 12 carries.
Thomas Rawls-Seattle Seahawks: Rawls was impressive while filling in for the injured Marshawn Lynch finishing with 104 yards rushing on his 16 carries. Rawls is an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan, but he could keep getting work if Lynch is forced to miss time.
Alfred Blue-Houtson Texans: Blue had a good game in his final game filling in for Arian Foster running for 139 yards on 31 carries against the Bucs. He found the end zone in the Houston win, but his role next week is extremely uncertain with Foster’s impending return.
Ryan Mathews-Philadelphia Eagles: Mathews stepped in for the injured DeMarco Murray and thrived despite a tough matchup against the Jets run defense. Mathews finished with 108 yards on 25 carries and added 20 yards and a touchdown on his two catches.
Lance Dunbar-Dallas Cowboys: Dunbar was a valuable contributor for fantasy owners especially in PPR leagues since he was again very involved in the passing game. Dunbar hauled in ten catches for 100 yards while adding five yards on his only carry of the game.
