After he collided with his teammate, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty was taken to the hospital
In the game on Monday night between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates, we had one of the scarier moments of the season. Outfielders Stephen Piscotty and Peter Bourjos were both chasing down a fly ball and the play resulted in the two colliding with one another.
It was quite the violent –and scary– collision and you can view it below if you missed it.
Very scary.
Piscotty was actually unconscious on the field for a bit and the stretcher had to be brought out. From there, Piscotty was carted off the field and he was able to give a thumbs up to the people in attendance. Now, we have a brief update on his condition, thanks to the Cardinals.
Hopefully all of the tests come back with about all the positive results that you can expect from an incident such as this. The first bit of good news was that he was conscious as he was leaving the field. Now, the tests need to let us know more about how he’s actually doing going forward.
