Cardinals-Pirates is MLB series to watch this week
By Mike Dyce
The series to watch in Major League Baseball this week is between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates.
The MLB season is winding down and the race for the post season is incredibly hot heading into the final days of the seaon. The National League Central division has been incredibly competitive, with three teams over 90 wins and three teams already clinching post season berths.
The St. Louis Cardinals sit atop the division, followed by the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs. The Cardinals and Pirates play this week, setting up a thrilling finish to the season and earning them the title of the “must watch” season of the week in Sports Illustrated and ScoreBig‘s Watchability Rankings.
The Pirates need a sweep or at the very least to win the series if they have any hope of stealing the division crown from St. Louis. On the other hand, if the Cardinals win or sweep the series however, they’ll have virtually locked the division title.
Casual baseball fans have to be rooting for the Pirates to win the series to set up a thrilling and interesting finish to the season.
There are several other incredibly interesting series to watch that could shape the way the playoff picture pans out. The series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants presents a Clayton Kershaw vs Madison Bumgarner match up that is a must watch game between two of the best in the game.
Here are other series to watch:
- Twins vs. Indians
- Red Sox vs. Yankees
- Dodgers vs. Giants
- Angels vs. Rangers
- Nationals vs. Mets
