Karlos Williams-RB-Buffalo Bills (23.6%)

The Bills are quickly turning into a smash mouth football team in the image of their head coach Rex Ryan, but it isn’t the running back that many expected to lead the way for Buffalo.  While LeSean McCoy has gotten off to a slow start, rookie Karlos Williams has stepped in and stepped up and is earning a bigger share of the backfield work.

Williams had a career-best 110 yards on 12 carries in the Bills’ 41-14 romp over Miami this week giving him three touchdowns in his first three NFL games.  He has only 24 carries on the season, but he has been able to turn them into 186 yards for a 7.8 yards-per-carry average.  He is definitely earning his way into a larger change-of-pace role, and there have also been some rumblings that he could get a full-time game in the backfield if McCoy is forced to take a week off to get his hamstring back to 100%.

This week, the Bills host the Giants in a not-so-great matchup for Williams, but his growing role and continuing impact make him worth owning in all formats. If and when McCoy is out, Williams would be a strong RB2, but even in the midst of his timeshare he’s quickly becoming a flex option.
