Get sloshed on Butterbeer at first adults-only Harry Potter tour
By Dan Selcke
An adults-only Harry Potter tour allows people to explore sets from the movies the way they should be explored: super drunk.
Although conceived for children, the Harry Potter book series was never enjoyed exclusively by kids. Plenty of adults read them as well, which necessitated shuffling into bookstores and quietly asking the proprietors to ring up the novel about the wizard boy who rides a magic train to school. “It’s for my niece,” the adult would say, as the person at the cash register smiled knowingly.
Now, years after the Harry Potter book and movie series have wrapped up, Warner Bros. has finally found a way for older Potterheads to enjoy themselves without all those annoying floor monsters running around. For the high, high price of £230 (around $348), they can attend the “first ever festive feast” at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England, where they’ll be served a two-course dinner in the Great Hall at Hogwarts before exploring other sets from the movies and dancing next to the Hogwarts Express. Alcohol will be hand throughout, and no one under 18 will be admitted.
At dinner, each attendee will be provided with their very own wand, which are sure to be waved around with increased frequency as the night goes on. “Accio vodka,” a 40-year-old in a wizard hat will yell, and everyone will laugh, and wonder fleetingly about getting busy in the Gryffindor common room. It’s Harry Potter After Dark, and it’s happening.
