According to UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier, Stone Cold Steve Austin will never step into the ring again

As we inch closer and closer to WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, TX next spring, the question on a lot of peoples’ minds is whether or not Stone Cold Steve Austin will make one more appearance in the ring for the people in his home state. Of course, the rumor swirling at the moment is that Austin could be getting into the ring with none other than Brock Lesnar for what could be one of the biggest matches in WWE and professional wrestling history.

However, there are still some folks that believe that no way no how will Austin ever step into the ring again. One of those folks happens to be someone who is not only a professional wrestling fan, not only a friend of Stone Cold Steve Austin, but he also happens to be the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier.

At the UFC media day event on Thursday, Cormier was asked about the prospects of his friend Austin getting into the ring again and he had this to say to FanSided.

“I know Steve, and I don’t think he’s going to wrestle again. I think he’s done.” Cormier said. “What’s he going to go back and wrestle full time or is he going to go back for a one-off? Steve doesn’t seem like the type of guy that would want to go and do a one-off. It seems like if he was going to do it, he’s going to do it full time.”

So now, not only is Austin himself taking to Twitter to debunk the rumors that he will be getting into the squared circle again, but those that know him personally can’t really see it happening.  While all wrestling fans would love to see “The Rattlesnake” get in there and mix it up one more time, the fact of the matter is that it’s looking more and more as if this is something that will never take place.

There’s still hope, because you never say never in professional wrestling, but it’s definitely not looking promising here as we close out the year 2015 and head into 2016.
