Team Defenses

Seattle Seahawks (5,300): After a shutout last week, the Seahawks are a great play at home again as they take on the turnover-prone Lions. Detroit will be desperate for a win, but they have struggled to get anything going on offense and CenturyLink Field will be rocking for a primetime game against an important NFC foe. When you add in the return factor that Tyler Lockett has brought, Seattle is definitely an elite D/ST regardless of matchup, and this week it’s actually a good one on top of that.

Arizona Cardinals (5,000): The Rams will be the best opponent the Cardinals have faced so far this season, but Arizona’s defense has been feasting the last few weeks and was especially dominant in last week’s romp over the 49ers.  They posted four picks, a safety, and two sacks while only allowing seven points last week in a great performance. St. Louis has struggled with turnovers and offensive rhythm allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing D/ST’s this season.  If you can’t afford the Seahawks, Arizona is a great play too.

Green Bay Packers (4,700): If you go cheap, the Packers are definitely an option to consider as they face the 49ers who have struggled offensively since they’re opening week win over Minnesota.  San Francisco has allowed the most points to opposing D/ST this season.  Green Bay hasn’t cracked double-digit fantasy points yet, but they did get seven sacks against Alex Smith on Monday Night Football.

Oakland Raiders (4,500): The Raiders are playing the Bears who have given up the second-most points in the NFL to opposing D/ST’s.  Jimmy Clausen couldn’t even get them a single point in Seattle in week 3, but I do think he’ll get them some points against the Raiders. Last week, Oakland’s defense looked much improved as they took on the Browns allowing 20 points and picking up a pair of turnovers while also adding five sacks.  If you go cheap and play the matchup, Oakland actually makes sense as a D/ST to roll with.
