FanDuel College Football Picks For Late October 3

There are only eight games in the late tournaments for Saturday on FanDuel since the Maryland-Michigan game was moved to noon eastern. Make sure you don’t take any players from those two teams since both FanDuel and DraftKings stated that those players will not accrue points! Don’t destroy your lineup with a zero!

Here are my FanDuel college football picks for late October 3:

Next: Who Will Put Up Big Numbers At QB?

Sep 19, 2015; Denver, CO, USA; Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Sefo Liufau (13) passes in the fourth quarter against the Colorado Buffaloes at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The Buffaloes defeated the Rams 27-24 in overtime. Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterback:

Best Bet:

Kevin Hogan, Stanford ($8,500):Ā Hogan has not been the model of consistency, but Arizona is 95th in the country against the pass, giving up 261.5 yards passing per game. They were shredded by UCLA freshman Josh Rosen last week at home. Hogan certainly has the chance to do that on the Farm.

Honorable Mention:

Brandon Allen, Arkansas ($8,200):Ā Allen continues to be efficient but unspectacular as the Arkansas QB. This weekend he gets to face a disappointing Tennessee defense that has given up 248.3 passing yards per game. There isn’t much separation between QB prices – or projected production – in the evening session. Allen is as solid of a bet as any.

Dark Horse:

Sefo Liufau, Colorado ($8,200):Ā Remember a time when starting any Colorado player, especially against Oregon, was unheard of. Well, this is not that time. The Ducks are 114th in the country, allowing 301.3 passing yards per game. Of particular news to a dual threat QB like Liufau is the fact that the Ducks have also allowed 173.5 rushing yards per game. Liufau could be in for a monster game in Boulder.

My pick: Liufau

Next: Should You Spend At RB?

Sep 18, 2015; Tempe, AZ, USA; Arizona State Sun Devils running back Demario Richard (4) carries the ball after a pass for a 93 yard touchdown during the second half against the New Mexico Lobos at Sun Devil Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Running Back:

Best Bets:

Leonard Fournette, LSU ($10,000):Ā The only question here is whether LSU will leave Fournette in long enough to rack up his third consecutive 200 yard game. Eastern Michigan has allowed a staggering 373.3 rushing yards per game. That is last by 60 yardsĀ per game! Fournette is a must-play. You may not gain anything by playing him since he will be owned almost universally, but you can’t afford not to play him. Seriously.

Demario Richard, Arizona State ($7,300):Ā Richard has averaged nearly ten yards per carry on the season, and he gets to take on a UCLA defense that has given up 198.3 rushing yards per game which is 98th in the country. The Bruins have not allowed a lot of points, however, so that tempers his value a little.

Honorable Mention:

Paul Perkins, UCLA ($8,200): Perkins failed to reach the 100 yard plateau for the first time last week against Arizona, but he found the end zone three times. Perkins is a strong bet to get back over 100 against Arizona State’s 83rd ranked run defense.

Tra Carson, Texas A&M ($6,600):Ā Mississippi State has allowed 178.8 yards on the ground per game so far this season, including 201 allowed to Auburn last week. Carson can be a horse if the Aggies choose to use him that way. He has 29 carries in the opener against Arizona State and 22 against Nevada. Expect a healthy dose of Carson against the Bulldogs this week.

Dark Horse:

Phillip Lindsay, Colorado ($4,800):Ā There is a reason dark horses are called as such. It has been Linsday, not Christian Powell, that has excelled with Michael Adkins out. Adkins is still regarded as questionable against Oregon, but there are growing rumblings that he will at least play against the Ducks. That leaves things up in the air for Lindsay, but I would bet that the Ralphies won’t completely phase him out either. There should be plenty of carries to go around against the Ducks porous defense.

My picks: Fournette and Richard

Next: Who Are The Best WR's Available?

Nov 1, 2014; Boulder, CO, USA; Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Nelson Spruce (22) runs a route in the second quarter against the Washington Huskies at Folsom Field. Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Wide Receiver:

Best Bets:

Nelson Spruce, Colorado ($7,900):Ā Spruce has been the lone bright spot on a largely awful Colorado team for the last three seasons. Now he finally has weapons around him, and it’s showing. Spruce is tied for the Pac 12 lead with 25 catches and has 276 yards. Oregon’s 120th ranked pass defense looms in what should be a huge day for Spruce.

Christian Kirk, Texas A&M ($7,300):Ā Arizona State has done pretty well against the pass this season, but this is more a reflection of Kirk’s ability than the Sun Devil defense. Kirk torched a pretty good Arkansas defense for 173 yards last week. He has gone over 100 yards in three of his first four games. He is clearly Kyle Allen’s favorite target, and will figure prominently in Texas A&M’s offense Saturday night.

Honorable Mention:

Drew Morgan, Arkansas ($5,700):Ā With Keon Hatcher and Jared Cornelius both out indefinitely, Morgan racked up 155 yards receiving against A&M last week. He is clearly the number one for Arkansas going forward. He could have a very nice game against a shaky Tennessee pass defense.

DeRunnya Wilson, Mississippi State ($6,300):Ā We saw what Drew Morgan did to the Aggie defense last weekend. Wilson should put up similar numbers with Dak Prescott getting him the ball.

Dark Horse:

Tim White, Arizona State ($4,500):Ā White was kept out of the end zone by USC last weekend, but he is still seeing targets as the Sun Devils get closer to the end zone. He is touchdown dependent, but if you need to go cheap, he is worth a flier.

My picks: Kirk, Morgan, White

Next: Who Is The Best TE?

Sep 19, 2015; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Stanford Cardinal tight end Austin Hooper (18) carries the ball on a 24-yard reception in the second quarter against the Southern California Trojans at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Tight End:

Best Bet:

Austin Hooper, Stanford ($4,000):Ā Hooper is Stanford’s leading receiver on the year. This likely has something to do with Kevin Hogan’s inconsistency on the year. Devon Cajuste’s loss could be the gain of FanDuelers who roll with Hooper.

Honorable Mention:

Hunter Henry, Arkansas ($3,200):Ā Henry did not see an uptick in production even with Hatcher and Cornelius out as expected last week. That said, Tennessee’s defense is much worse against the pass than A&M’s. Henry should be more involved in the offense this week.

Dark Horse:

Gus Walley, Mississippi State ($2,000):Ā Walley has caught three or more passes in three of the four games this season. He is not busting loose for big chunks of yardage, but he is a definite to get you something as Dak Prescott’s safety valve. You could do worse for a player at the lowest price.

My pick: Walley
