Eastern Michigan Eagles vs. No. 9 LSU Tigers
The LSU Tigers (3-0) host the Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-3) this Saturday at Tiger Stadium, in a contest that has all the makings of a blowout.
LSU is on a roll this season, largely due to a tremendous start to the season from Leonard Fournette. The sophomore running back has established himself as the early-season Heisman frontrunner with 631 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, averaging an impressive 8.6 yards per carry. Fournette’s 210.3 rushing yards per game is the best in the FBS. In addition to their star running back, the Tigers have a dominant defense and passing attack that looks more improved every week.
Eastern Michigan could be in for a long day on Saturday. The Eagles are giving up 373.3 rushing yards per game, setting up a potential third straight 200-yard rushing performance for Fournette. They have dropped games to Ball State, Old Dominion and Army already this season, and with LSU’s passing attack showing promise, things could get ugly quick. If Eastern Michigan is going to keep the game close, it is going to need an offensive explosion from senior running back Darius Jackson and freshman wide receiver Eddie Daugherty.
The game will be televised on ESPNU, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Live Streaming will be available via Watch ESPN.
