Michael Kidd-Gilchrist taken to hospital with arm injury

The Charlotte Hornets have already lost Michael Kidd-Gilchrist after just one preseason game.
It’s just one preseason game for the Charlotte Hornets but the ramifications from it could be monstrous. After just one game, the Hornets have already potentially lost Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to what might be a serious arm injury.
The Hornets star was taken away on a stretcher and taken to the local hospital after suffering what appears to be an arm injury. All of this, according to Basketball Insiders reporter Mary Stevens.
He wasn’t stretchered off the court but the fact that he wasn’t able to leave the stadium under his own power is not encouraging. What makes it even less encouraging is the fact that he needed to be stretchered away with an arm injury, which is not a positive sign for the diagnosis.
At the time, it’s not known what the exact injury is but Gilchrist was holding his arm when he left the court and it looks like it might be a shoulder injury. Either way, this is not good for the Hornets, who need to bounce back from missing the postseason last year and regressing following a pretty solid 2013-14 campaign.
Gilchrist is fresh off of signing a new extension with the Hornets too, which compounds how unlucky this is for Hornets fans hoping that this season can turn out better than mostly every other season the team has had since the franchise returned.
