Winners: Florida Gators (No. 11; Up From No. 25)

OK, Florida, we see you now. AP voters and fans, yes, we can clearly see that you want to once again be seen as a legitimate threat on the national landscape in college football. And, you know what? You’re doing a pretty good job so far!

Last weekend after a hard-fought victory over Tennessee, Florida was thrown a bone and given the No. 25 spot in the rankings. In a sense, you could say that basically it was a trial run for the Gators to see if they were serious about being recognized again. Yeah, well, they passed that test with flying colors, showing that the bone was not enough for this squad; these guys are HUNGRY!

Saturday night inside the Swamp, the Gators wasted no time in taking out the team that, for the last two weeks, people had been calling the best team in the country after their win over Alabama. But, not once did Florida look intimated or nervous. Actually, it was the Rebels that looked a bit uneasy for four quarters.

Offensively, defensively and on special teams, this Florida team looked about as complete as we have seen them in quite some time.

Don’t look now, but there might be a new favorite in the SEC East after everything we saw take place on Saturday. Yes, this is NOT a drill.
