The Houston Texans are not a good team this year, and beat writer John McClain is pretty much done.

If you watched Hard Knocks this offseason, you might have gotten the impression that the Houston Texans were a functioning member of football society. Once the regular season started though, we saw just how bad the Texans are this season and things are getting worse as the season presses on.

Aside from a win against a horrible Buccaneers team last week, the Texans have had nothing to show for J.J. Watt’s apparent ten hours of sleep each night and the leaps forward Bill O’Brien thought the team made this summer. Things are so bad that long time beat writers are now packing it in and turning heel.

The lovable John McClain is so incensed that he’s turning against the Texans like most fans in Houston are after what will be a 1-3 start to this season.

McClain isn’t wrong in the slightest, that’s what makes this so honest and perfect. The Texans are not even remotely close to being a good football team this season, and it’s going to be a trip back to the drawing board this offseason as O’Brien tries to figure out not only how to correct things on the field but save his job off it.
