The MLB playoffs are set to get started, and it all begins in the NL with a thrilling Wild Card showdown.

With the MLB regular season coming to an end, it’s time to gear up for the most exciting time of the year in baseball. The postseason has always been the most entertaining time of the year for the sport of baseball, and with the additions to the playoff format over the years, we’ve been given more cake to pig out on.

This year, we are getting a doozy of a matchup in the NL Wild Card round which will feature two teams that have both tasted the postseason but haven’t gone very far. For the Pittsburgh Pirates, they have been a mainstay in the playoff races over recent years but haven’t yet advanced and made a run.

The obvious story here though is the Chicago Cubs, who are back in the postseason for the first time since 2007 and are trying to restore the glory they haven’t tasted since their NLCS run back in 2004 — the Bartman year. These two teams will collide with a trip to St. Louis on the line and an official ticket to the MLB postseason up for grabs.

So when can you catch the Cubs vs. Pirates NL Wild Card showdown and where will all of the action go down? We have the information you need to know to get your postseason off to a hot start.
