Todd Gurley takes off for 52-yard run vs Cardinals (Video)
By Jack Crosby
We’re starting to slowly but surely see how valuable young Todd Gurley can be to this St. Louis Rams team
The St. Louis Rams were very careful this season in the way they handled rookie running back Todd Gurley. They took him with the 10th overall pick in the draft out of Georgia, but because of the horrible knee injury he was rehabbing from, they held him out the first few weeks of the season. Well, he’s active now, and he’s quickly coming into his own.
We saw that on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
In the fourth quarter of this NFC West showdown on Sunday, they were not only letting Gurley get some work in, but they were putting the ball in his hands in a pretty close game. Considering that he’s still fairly new, that’s somewhat of a gamble.
Yeah, well, their finding out that the gamble not only to put the ball in his hands but the one they took by drafting him so high might be paying off. Watch as Gurley busts through the middle for the 52-yard gain.
That’s the Gurley they hoped they were getting and that’s the one that we all wanted to see.
