Minnesota Vikings vs. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have been quietly silencing critics this season, racking up three wins in three tries while Peyton Manning’s arm still looks like it might be regressing. Still, don’t count out the unbeaten Broncos moving forward as Manning might still have some veteran luck left in his arm.

Minnesota’s start to the year has also been a bit surprising as the 2-1 Vikings have been led by the strong rushing attack of Adrian Peterson. Yes, Peterson had the entire season off last year and he has come back to be one of the leading rushers in the NFL this season. It will be interesting to see how he performs against the Broncos’ defense.

Keys to Victory

Denver Broncos

Peyton Manning might not be able to throw 30 or 40 passes a game anymore, so getting the ball in the hands of C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman will take a ton of pressure off the veteran quarterback. If the Broncos can get the run game going early and open up the passing attack, Peyton can still have a solid game.

As always, it will be a huge key to stop Adrian Peterson and Denver’s run defense has the pieces to do so, allowing just 83 rushing yards and having one of the best defenses in the league. If the Broncos stop Peterson, they will force Teddy Bridgewater to beat them through the air, and it won’t be enough.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota is a feel-good story in the league this season, going from bottom-dweller of the NFC North to serious contender to take the division crown from the Green Bay Packers. Teddy Bridgewater has gotten off to a decent start to his second full season in the league, passing for 505 yards, a touchdown and two picks.

However, Bridgewater won’t be able to beat the Broncos without Peterson. If Adrian can rack up another 100-yard performance and a touchdown or two, the Vikings will be in good shape. Making Peyton throw tough passes will also be of great assistance seeing as his arm isn’t what it used to be.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Broncos -7
Moneyline: Vikings +250, Broncos -300
O/U: 42.5

Prediction

Manning will do just enough and C.J. Anderson will finally have his breakout game of 2015, racking up 115 yards and a touchdown while leading the run game from both sides. Peterson will have a big run early on, but Denver will adjust and take care of business after that.

Final Score: Vikings 17, Broncos 28
