The Seattle Seahawks are trying to win their second straight game after an 0-2 start, when they take on the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football at CenturyLink Field. Seattle is almost unbeatable at home, playing in one of the loudest venues in North America.

The Seahawks began the campaign with losses to the St. Louis Rams and Green Bay Packers before hammering the Chicago Bears in a 26-0 shutout last week. The Bears could do nothing against a revitalized defense that included strong safety Kam Chancellor, who returned after his holdout.

Meanwhile, the Lions are desperately looking for their first win of the season. Detroit is reeling after losses to the San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos. The main problems have been the lack of pass protection for Matthew Stafford and a complete disregard of the running game by offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. In Week 2, Stafford led the Lions in rushing.

The Seahawks were picked by many to make the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season, something that a team has not done since the 1992 Buffalo Bills. Of course, the Bills also never won the big one, while Seattle already has a ring on its finger (it should have two, but why not ignore Marshawn Lynch at the 1-yard line and chuck a slant pass?).

If the Lions lose the contest, they will be the only team without a win on the young National Football League season.
