Khris Middleton threw it down hard on Jimmy Butler (Video)
Bucks wing Khris Middleton threw down a vicious dunk on Bulls guard Jimmy Butler
The Milwaukee Bucks signed Khris Middleton to a surprisingly hefty extension this offseason, locking the talented young guard up for the long-term before the salary cap jumps next summer. He celebrated his new deal by just disrespecting Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler on a fast break in the Bucks’ first preseason game.
Butler was hanging with Middleton as the Bucks guard led the break and when Middleton went to take off, Butler was right there to try and contest at the rim. That’s a decision he immediately regretted as Middleton brought down the hammer for two points right in Butler’s face:
You have to admire the hustle and effort on the part of Butler, but sometimes you’ve got to pick your battles. Going toe-to-toe with any of the lengthy wings on the Bucks roster at the rim is not a wise decision, especially when they’ve got a full head of steam.
Middleton has the chance to play a hugely important role for the Bucks this season and beyond, which is good considering that they’ll be paying him $70 million over the next five years. However, with explosiveness like this and his burgeoning ability as a three-and-D threat for Milwaukee, he could grow into a player well worth that type of money.
