3B- Kris Bryant

The Cubs rookies were all sorts of awesome. Jake Arrieta is all sorts of ridiculous. You know who else is ridiculous and was right away? All-Star rookie third baseman Kris Bryant. Much was made of calling up Kris Bryant during the season instead of having him start right away with the club due to arbitration concerns. No one is talking about that now. (Well, maybe Scott Boras is a little upset still)

Bryant will be your NL rookie of the year this year and if they are going to get past Gerrit Cole and the Pirates on Wednesday, Kris Bryant is going to have to deliver.

Bryant was a Pirate killer this year, hitting .400 with one homer and 15 RBI. He wasn’t as good against the Cardinals, hitting just .236 with a homer and six RBI.

Overall, Bryant led the league with 199 strikeouts, but he did hit .275/.369/.488 with 26 homers and 99 RBI. He also doesn’t turn 24 until January.

Bryant is the leader of all the Cubs rookies. They have Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber, but Bryant is the guy who has to be the guy for the Cubs offensively.

This postseason is where you make a name for yourself. These five rookies have a chance to make a huge name for themselves in their rookie season. If you’re a baseball fan you know all five of these names. But an average sports fan may not. This October could make all five of these players household names and all five may hold the key to their respective teams’ success.
