Beckham was seen getting blocked during the game, before going to the ground. After getting up, Beckham took a swing at safety Duke Williams, which was not penalized at the time. After reviewing the film, the National Football League took financial action. It is the first time in Beckham’s two-year career that he has been fined, perhaps factoring into the relatively low dollar amount. Here’s video of the punch:
Head coach Tom Coughlin was obviously not pleased with the situation, and spoke to the media on Wednesday morning about the incident.
Beckham has been very good once again in 2015, recording 24 catches for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Last year, Beckham had 91 receptions with 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year.
New York is currently 2-2 and tied for first place in the NFC East. The Giants started the campaign with a pair of defeats but have rallied to beat both the Washington Redskins and Bills, putting them right back in the mix. They are still trying to get receiver Victor Cruz back form a patellar injury he sustained last year.
