Sean Rodriguez gets ejected from NL Wild Card Game, takes it out on Gatorade bucket (Video)
By Josh Hill
Pittsburgh Pirates utility player Sean Rodriguez was ejected from the NL Wild Card game, and took it out on a poor Gatorade bucket.
For yet another year, the Pittsburgh Pirates failed to do anything of note in the NL Wild Card game, and the aggression bubbled over int he seventh inning when the benches cleared on both sides of the field.
This is what sparked the fight, as after hitting two different batters in two separate innings, Jake Arrieta was plunked himself and the benches cleared.
But while there was a lot of huffing and puffing on both sides, Sean Rodriguez did the only blowing. He was in the middle of the scrum trying to throw punches — energy which was stored up after bring pinch hit for in the third inning. All that sitting on the bench left Rodriguez with energy to exert, but it ended up getting him ejected from the game.
The only thing was, Rodriguez didn’t land any punches that hit anything other than things in the Pirates dugout.
Just watch, as Rodriguez takes out his aggression on a helpless Gatorade bucket.
Someone needs to give that guy a hug. Pittsburgh will have all winter to figure out who that will be.
