Houston Astros vs. Kansas City Royals
Now that the Wild Card games are all in the books now, it’s time to get down to the real baseball playoffs, as some people would call it. The American League Division Series gets kicked off on Thursday night and we get to see a match up between the Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals in Game One of their series.
After what was one of their more successful years in quite some time, the Astros were able to earn themselves the Wild Card spot in the American League. Tuesday night they took on the New York Yankees, and on the road in the Bronx, they were able to shut out the 27-time world champions. This team struggled a little bit down the stretch, but they seem like they might be putting it all together now.
The Royals come into this series as a team with a mission. Last season they shocked everyone by making it all the way to the World Series, only to end up losing to the San Francisco Giants in an emotional seven-game series. This season, they’ve proven this team is no fluke and they want that World Series trophy. That journey starts on Thursday night.
Game One of the ALDS between the Astros and Royals will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 and will also be available for live stream.
