Travin Dural hauled in the long touchdown catch for LSU
No. 7 LSU continues to look like a playoff contender, as they are well on their way to maintaining their undefeated record after a Travin Dural touchdown. They now hold a 31-17 lead over South Carolina in the third quarter. The Tigers began to pull away with an 87-yard touchdown run by Leonard Fournette.
LSU continued to dominate South Carolina with a 62-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brandon Harris to Dural, which was initially tipped by tight end DeSean Smith.
Dural was relatively quiet this season before his South Carolina performance. He had 10 catches for 129 yards in the first four games for LSU, and he did not have a touchdown catch or more than 51 yards in a game.
However, the junior wide receiver has proven to be a dangerous deep threat with multiple catches of 25 yards or more. His 62-yard touchdown catch proved that he is capable of becoming a more featured part of the LSU offense, but Fournette continues to be the main attraction on the entire Tigers team.
Dural now has four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown while Fournette has reached 158 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in this one. Harris is having a solid game of his own, and that touchdown pass significantly boosted his passing stats as he now has 202 yards on 16-of-26 passing with two touchdowns. The Tigers are receiving quality practice against a bottom-feeding SEC team before they have to take on No. 11 Florida, who will still be undefeated if they can come away with a road win over Missouri.
