Eli Manning gets lit up as he scrambles for a first down (Video)

Eli Manning was trying to lead his team on a game-winning drive and maybe running was not the best option here

You know, things always seem to be a little more enjoyable when Eli Manning is leading the charge in the waning moments of the game, for better or worse. Sunday night against the 49ers, Manning gave us yet another memorable moment in the clutch, although he’s probably wishing that he didn’t.

After the 49ers had scored to take the lead with near a minute left in the game, it was all in Eli’s hands. Now, all joking aside, we know that he’s a competitor. You don’t win two Super Bowl rings without being one. So, when he had the opportunity to get the first down, he took it.

Well, while it was a great idea at the time, he ended up getting absolutely smashed on the try and he might be a little sore tomorrow.

Yeah, that’s gonna leave a few marks on the old body there.

But, hey, you can’t really knock the guy for taking the hit there. He knew that it was coming and he gritted his teeth and took the smashing like a man.
