Marvin Jones was more than a little elusive on this 44-yard reception
The Cincinnati Bengals have been riding high through the first four weeks of the season, but Week 5 promised to be their biggest test as they took on the vaunted Seattle Seahawks defense. On the Bengals’ first drive of the game, it was clear that their offense, especially Marvin Jones, didn’t care how heralded that Seahawks defense is.
Andy Dalton hit Jones down the right side with a deep throw, but Jones was determined to get some extra yardage on the play. He evaded roughly 75 tackles, switched fields, and tried to get back to the right side of the field in arguably the greatest 11-yard run-after-catch ever:
Jones legitimately looked like he was a part of a Madden play on that with someone just mashing every juke, spin, and turbo button that they possibly could at the same time. Even if he didn’t get into the end zone, you can’t help but be impressed while watching the moves he puts on one of the best defenses in the league.
If Jones can continue to make big plays such as that for Cincinnati, this offense is only going to get even better than it’s already been this season. Don’t look now, but the Bengals might be for real.
