Final. 27. 56. 24. 36

The Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals played arguably the most exciting game on a Sunday full of thrillers. They teams fought it out in a contest that was ultimately decided in overtime in Paul Brown Stadium.

Seattle jumped out to a 24-7 lead through three quarters and looked primed to coast to a third consecutive win. And then the world came tumbling down.

The Seahawks’ offense hit neutral in the fourth quarter and could move the ball no more than 18 yards on any drive in the period. Meanwhile, Cincinnati remembered that it’s actually a good team that likes to win tight games and posted 17 unanswered points to force overtime.

Seattle and Cincinnati traded punts in the extra period, and then another Seahawks three-and-out set up what would ultimately be the Bengals’ game-winning drive. Andy Dalton and Gio Bernard matriculated the ball down the field for 33 yards on six plays to set up a 42-yard Mike Nugent field goal that was, in the truest of dramatics, doinked home for the win.

Cue up the “Is Andy Dalton elite?” and “Is Russell Wilson clutch anymore?” talking head discussions.
