Antonio Gates didn’t really waste any time on Monday night of getting into the end zone as he comes off suspension

Monday night the San Diego Chargers are at home as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and without question one of the main focuses of this one is the return of tight end Antonio Gates. Gates was forced to serve a four-game suspension to start the season, meaning that he was eligible to be in the lineup on Monday night.

Well, he must have really missed that end zone a lot, because he didn’t really waste any time getting there.

After the Steelers failed to get anything going on their first drive, the Chargers went to work, and with that, so did Gates and Philip Rivers. On their first drive, all they did was hook up for this 12-yard touchdown on the fifth play of that drive.

Aside from the fact that Gates found the end zone so quickly, what else is notable about this play is that this was Gates’ 100th touchdown of his amazing career. He must have really wanted that number because he didn’t waste any time making sure that he locked it up.

It looks like the Chargers offense, too, is ready to go full steam ahead with Gates back.
