The Dodgers vs. Mets Game 3 showdown is going to be one that is as intense as a playoff game can get from an emotional standpoint.
After what happened to Rueben Tejada in Game 2 of the NLDS in Los Angeles, things are more than likely going to get testy in New York tonight when the Dodgers arrive at Citi Field. Compounding the hurt feelings about Tejada’s broken leg is the fact that Chase Utley is going to be available for the Dodgers in Game 3 — something that Mets fans will not be happy about.
If Utley plays tonight, you’d better hide the children because things are going to get ugly. Already Matt Harvey has indicated that there will be retaliation to defend Tejada, who is out for the rest of the postseason and will rehab to make his return in 2016. Aside from that, we’re dealing with a series that is tighter than any other series in the postseason right now, as the Dodgers and Mets are deadlocked at 1-1 and whoever wins this emotional game tonight will have a huge load off their backs.
