Earlier this week, the undefeated Florida Gators received the stunning news that starter quarterback Will Grier would be suspended for the rest of the season after a performance enhancing drugs violation. On Wednesday morning, more news broke about a Gators player, and if the allegations are true, much more serious news.

Cornerback Deiondre Porter has been suspended indefinitely from the team after he was alleged to have put a gun to his pregnant girlfriend’s head before shooting in her direction.

The report states that on Sept. 29, Porter confronted the girl because he suspected she was involved with one of his teammates. After the girl went into her bedroom to avoid the argument, Porter followed her and pulled out a handgun, pointing it at her head while demanding the truth.

The girlfriend then tried to contact the teammate in question multiple times to show Porter there was nothing going on. Incredibly, after the girlfriend could not get hold of the teammate, Porter stayed at her apartment and slept in her room while she stayed on the couch. A few hours later, Porter again claimed she was involved with one of his teammates, became furious and fired his weapon in her direction. After this, he vacated the apartment.

The following day, police found Porter in a car with a .45 caliber handgun, the same type of gun that left a bullet hole in the victim’s wall. However, it must be noted it was the driver of the car (Porter was the passenger) who was found with the weapon.

At this point, all of this is alleged. Porter has not been found guilty of any crimes.
