Jose Bautista played hero for the Blue Jays in Game 5 of the ALDS and his jersey from the game is already up for auction

Jose Bautista is now immortal in Toronto. He’s already made his legend with the Toronto Blue Jays as a result of the talent and production he’s given the team over the years, but his performance in Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS against the Texas Rangers has elevated him to a whole new level of regard.

It was Bautista’s monstrous three-run homer (complete with the greatest bat flip in history) that put the Blue Jays ahead late in the decisive Game 5. That homer also drove in what proved to be the winning runs that advanced the Blue Jays to their first ALCS since 1993. And now you can own the jersey Bautista became a figure of mythology in:

That picture seriously must’ve been taken right after Bautista go off the field. The game ended just before 8 p.m. ET and MLB posted it to their auction site at 8:44 p.m. ET. Say what you will, but Major League Baseball is undeniably time-efficient.

The price on this bad boy is going to skyrocket in the coming days before the auction is over. Yes, it’s the jersey that Bautista was wearing when he reached hero status. Yes, it’s the jersey Bautista was wearing when he hit the game-winning home run. But more than any of that, it’s the jersey he was wearing when this bat flip happened:
