The Philadelphia 76ers take a shot at Wells Fargo

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in a pissing contest with Wells Fargo, because the company withdrew their sponsorship of the Sixers. The team isn’t very happy about that, but unfortunately their really expensive arena is sponsored by Wells Fargo. However, the only part of the arena the Sixers are technically required to have that name there is on the arena itself. When they refer to it they usually just call it “The Center”.

As funny, and somewhat childish, this feud is it makes sense for the Sixers to not want to advertise Wells Fargo. If the company doesn’t want to sponsor their basketball team then why should the basketball team sponsor their company? Where things get weird however is that apparently the NBA requires them to put the actual arena name on the court. Well, the Sixers re-designed their court, and finding the stadium name is basically the NBA version of “Where’s Waldo?”.

Alright everybody. Look for the “Wells Fargo Center” logo. Don’t worry we’ll give you some time.

Okay did you find it? If not, the good ole folks at Sports Logos (dot) net got you covered.

Yep. Not only is it in very tiny lettering, but they made it the brightest kind of white they could find so it would be practically invisible. This is a level of trolling not seen on an NBA court since Lance Stephenson blew in LeBron James ear. The best part though is this isn’t one player trying to get into another’s head by acting weird. No, it’s two multi million dollar companies ran by billionaires feuding over sponsorship, and it’s glorious. Can WWE get in on this? We need a Wells Fargo vs the Sixers cage match, and then Adam Silver can come flying in at an unexpected point to support the Sixers.

Or the Sixers can just continue to not acknowledge Wells Fargo exists. That works too.
