The Toronto Blue Jays are on to the ALCS after a controversial Game 5 of the ALDS that has turned into an instant classic.

Sports fans like to toss around the term ‘instant classic’ whenever something amazing happens in a game — but what we saw in Game 5 of the ALDS between the Rangers and Blue Jays warrants that label more so than any game we’ve seen recently. It was all about the seventh inning, as the Rangers scored a go-ahead run on a controversial call that was only the beginning of what would be the craziest inning of baseball we’ve seen in years.

Toronto bounced back in the bottom half of the inning to not only tie the game but take the lead on a massive Jose Bautista home run that blew the roof off the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Here’s a look at the updated MLB Playoff picture now that the Rangers have been bounced back home to Texas.

There’s still hope for a Texas team to make the World Series. The Houston Astros are in an elimination game against the Kansas City Royals in which they can advance to the ALCS tonight. But there won’t be an all Texas Championship Series this year as the Rangers ended up on the wrong side of one of the mots historic games in baseball history.
