Alabama. Reggie Ragland. 25. player. 31. The Giants are one of the worst clubs in terms of team defense (No. 28). They give up nearly 400 yards per game and dead last in pass defense. With a solid defensive line, they could use help in the secondary or a linebacker who has the acumen to both fill gaps and seamlessly drop into coverage. With names like Jalen Ramsey and Vernon Hargreaves long gone by this time, that leaves the freakishly athletic linebacker Reggie Ragland.
Ragland is the next great linebacker to come from Alabama – joining Dont’a Hightower, Rolando McClain, Courtney Upshaw, DeMeco Ryans andd C.J. Mosley. He’s the king of guy who hits like a wrecking ball and covers all angles on the field. Ragland possesses the abilities to adjust on the fly recalibrate on play fakes. He plays both laterally and north-south, and has solid instincts.

In only six games he has 50 total tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. He’s the engine that drives Alabama’s sixth-ranked total defense (No. 1 in the SEC).

The Giants are a team with several great needs, and if Ragland is still on the board this late he’ll surely be a steal. His rookie year might be a baptism by fire, but Ragland’s athletic abilities are more than enough to compensate while he gets ahold of the playbook.
. Positioned
