Put these five NFL teams on upset alert for Week 6

When the schedule for the 2015 NFL season came out, almost every football fan had Week 6 circled. Not only were there plenty of divisional matchups to get excited about and a few matchups that have been historically entertaining, but it’s the week that NFL fans get to see the Deflategate revenge game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts.

Coming into the season, the prevailing belief about the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Colts and Patriots was that it would be for control of the driver’s seat in the AFC. Unfortunately, a poor start and an injury to Andrew Luck has the Colts just struggling to stay in the playoff hunt while the Patriots are riding high after an unbeaten start to the season.

Though we aren’t looking at two of the best teams to this point of the season facing off, there is undoubtedly going to be some drama because of the entire AFC Championship controversy from last season. Consequently, it’s hard to rule anything out when there is that type of bad blood on both sides of the field as the Colts want to exact revenge for what they perceive as cheating and the Patriots want to pay their opponents back for stirring up the controversy in the first place.

Normally that type of situation constitutes putting the favored team on upset alert because it’s the type of game that typically means anything can happen after the opening kickoff. However, this game just feels like too much of a mismatch for that to be the cause on Sunday night.

The Patriots have looked like world-beaters offensively in every game so far this season and the Colts’ defense has looked ill-prepared to even handle a mediocre offensive team. In addition, the turnover and offensive line issues for the Colts don’t put them in any position to win a shootout if they are indeed unable to keep the Pats from putting a big number on the scoreboard.

This isn’t the week that I see the Patriots even having a remote chance of losing, even with all of the circumstances surrounding the game. However, there could be another undefeated team in danger of suffering their first loss of the season and other teams in danger of losing games that they’re favored in or losing games to teams they have a better record than.

Even if the Patriots aren’t among them, these are the five teams that have to be put on upset alert in Week 6:
