Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is officially listed as questionable for rematch against New England Patriots.
The Indianapolis Colts have been without starting quarterback Andrew Luck for the last two weeks, getting acceptable play from back-up Matt Hasselbeck in the interim. However, the team is looking forward to having Luck back on Sunday night when the Colts take on the New England Patriots in the much-anticipated rematch of the 2015 AFC Championship.
Luck, who has been dealing with a sore throwing shoulder since a September 27th win over the Tennessee Titans, is currently listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at home against New England. However, Colts coach Chuck Pagano has been leading people to believe that Luck will be under center on Sunday, according to Mike Chappell of Indy Sports Central.
Luck may not necessarily be a lucky charm for the Colts when he returns. Currently, Luck ranks above only Ryan Mallet of Houston in quarterback rating (65.0) and has thrown seven interceptions versus just five touchdowns in three games this season.
Meanwhile, Hasselbeck has been solid for the Colts, putting up a 95.0 QBR with 495 yards passing, three touchdowns, and no picks in two victories over the Texans and Jaguars respectively. While both are nowhere near the Patriots in terms of competition level, it goes to show that Hasselbeck has developed a solid rapport with his receivers over just two games.
Regardless of who the Colts start under center, they have an uphill battle against the Patriots on Sunday. New England comes into the game as a ten point favorite over the Colts as the Pats look to push to 5-0 during Tom Brady’s redemption tour.
