The much anticipated rivalry between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts is generating all sorts of buzz…and some unique cookies.
As if the much-anticipated rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game needed anything else to stoke the hype machine, one Indianapolis bakery is offering a slightly different take on the Colts and Patriots match-up on Sunday. Well, a different taste at least.
Taylor’s Bakery in Indianapolis is putting its cookie baking expertise to the test by offering two very distinct cookies designed at trolling the New England Patriots and their quarterback Tom Brady. The first, features the much-publicized sketch artist drawing of Brady during his appeal of the NFL’s suspension. The second is designed to replicate a destroyed Samsung Galaxy, a poke at Brady’s destroyed cell phone that the NFL was otherwise unable to search during its investigation of Deflategate.

As if that weren’t enough, the bakery is also offering one more delicacy for Colts fans looking to stick it to the Patriots, a deflated cake that resembles a football missing a few pounds of pressure.

These all stem from the infamous Deflategate scandal that plagued the Patriots and Brady during the Super Bowl and then throughout the offseason. The Patriots were accused of doctoring footballs and removing air in order to improve Brady’s grip on the ball during the AFC Championship between the Colts and Patriots.
Brady was suspended four games by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for probable knowledge of the infraction, but a federal judge later overturned the suspension because Goodell didn’t have just cause and because the penalty circumvented the collective bargaining agreement.
Sunday’s match-up between Indianapolis and New England is the first meeting of the two teams since the infamous AFC title game. The game is the Sunday Night Football prime time game and for good reason.
