New York Mets manager Terry Collins had some fun with the fans after the NLDS Game 5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Earlier this evening, the New York Mets defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 to win the NLDS. They will move onto play the Chicago Cubs for a trip to the World Series to face the Toronto Blue Jays or Kansas City Royals.

Before this series win, Mets manager Terry Collins had been through tough times running this ball club over the years. He never totaled more than 79 wins in a season and was on the hot seat because of this. However, he helped bring this team to the playoffs for the first time in nine years and has received plenty of praise because of that.

Following the win tonight, you could tell Collins was overjoyed with emotion. In the video below, the 66-year-old ran down the first base line like a kid high-fiving and hugging Mets fans who made the trip to Los Angeles.

This is great. Collins has showed emotion throughout the playoffs but never to this extent. He has always kept this kind of outburst to himself but you can see he was ecstatic. This was his first postseason series win as a manager after having stints with the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels.

The Mets now move onto next week’s NLCS where emotions will continue to run high while the action will be intense. It should be a lot of fun to watch.
