Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut has broken his nose for the fourth time in a preseason game against the Houston Rockets.

Andrew Bogut is the man that holds the defense of the Golden State Warriors together. His 8.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game, not to mention forcing opponents to shoot a mere 41.4 percent at the rim, made Bogut a pivotal player in the Warriors’ championship run. The main problem throughout his career, though, has been a lingering battle with injuries.

Now, that lingering bother of injury is back. Although, with a broken nose (that he’s already endured three times before), there really isn’t much to worry about this time.

As has been reported by Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area, he broke his nose during the second quarter of a preseason game against the Houston Rockets:

"Starting center Andrew Bogut sustained a broken nose Thursday night against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors announced early in the third quarter. He left the game with 50.8 seconds remaining the first half and did not return.Bogut will be further evaluated on Friday, after which his status for the team’s upcoming road trip will be determined."

The blow that broke Bogut’s nose came via the flying forearm of Rockets’ guard K.J. McDaniels as he elevated for a dunk. After the Warriors’ star center spent a minute on the floor, he left the game and, as Poole reported, will be evaluated on Friday to see whether or not he can return to playing in a few days time.

The Warriors’ next game is on October 17 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Then, three days later, they take on the best of L.A. in the form of the Clippers.

Even if he doesn’t return immediately, though, there’s no doubt that Andrew Bogut will be back soon. Despite having a nose that’s never going to look perfect after being broken as many times as an Australian rugby player’s, he can still swat shots and anchor the paint as he always does.
