Broncos’ Shane Ray injures knee and leaves game
By Mike Dyce
Denver Broncos outside linebacker Shane Ray injured his knee and was forced to leave the game.
The Denver Broncos defense took another hit on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Outside linebacker Shane Ray hurt his right knee, and was rolling around on the ground in pain while clutching it.
It looked like Cleveland Browns tackle Joe Thomas rolled up on Ray’s legs in the pile up.
The particularly hurtful part for the Broncos is that Ray was getting the nod because future Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware is out with a back injury.
The Broncos don’t need to go into full-on panic mode yet, they’re headed into a bye week in Week 7 that will give them two weeks before their next game. Ware could be healthy and ready to go by then lessening the impact of Ray’s injury.
That won’t do a whole lot to help out the Broncos against the Browns, but let’s face it, they’re playing the Browns.
Ray’s injury looks like it will keep him out for a while and that we won’t expect to see him back on the field in Week 8.
