The Minnesota Vikings are hoping that their BYE week got them nice and ready for the rest of the 2015 National Football League regular season. On Sunday, the rested Vikings will be taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, a team that entered the campaign with Super Bowl aspirations but instead is 1-4.

Kansas City has been dismal throughout the season, and has lost four straight. The streak started with a ridiculous last-second loss to the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium, which was compounded by losses to the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals in the following weeks. Last Sunday, the Chiefs held a 17-6 lead at home over the injury-riddled Chicago Bears, only to watch Jay Cutler engineer two fourth-quarter touchdown drives, giving Chicago a victory in the closing seconds.

Minnesota began the season with a rough loss to the San Francisco 49ers but has since looked much better. In Week 4, the Vikings fought tough against the Broncos but could not come away with the road win, giving them ample motivation heading into this contest.

For most of the season, the buildup for this game was to see two of the best running backs in the game with Adrian Peterson facing Jamaal Charles. Instead, we will only be seeing Peterson after Charles tore his ACL last week, and will miss the remaining 11 games of the season. Charles was on pace for another 1,000-yard season, but will now have to wait until 2016 to continue his potentially Hall of Fame career.
