The Pittsburgh Steelers are already without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and now they are down backup quarterback Michael Vick.

Vick left Sunday’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals after the veteran scrambled and took a knee to the head. Vick was forced out of the game and was replaced by third-string quarterback Landry Jones.

Hopefully Vick does not have a concussion, although that was not pretty. Vick’s head had nowhere to go but straight into the turf, leaving him with few options. If Jones has to stay in the game, it is tough seeing him rise up to defeat the Cardinals, who are 4-1 on the campaign. Head coach Bruce Arians is the former offensive coordinator for the Steelers, where he won a Super Bowl with Pittsburgh over the Seattle Seahawks back in 2005.

Before he was injured, Vick had only completed 2-of-4 passes for -1 yards. Needless to say, it was not the kind of afternoon that gets you into the Hall of Fame. Vick was unsigned throughout most of the preseason but was eventually inked by Pittsburgh after backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski went down for the year.
