Packers head coach Mike McCarthy had a few words for the referees at halftime
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy is not happy with the referees after the 1st half of the game against the San Diego Chargers.
Going into halftime of the Packers-Chargers game, the Packers lead 17-10. The Chargers scored a touchdown with a few seconds in the 1st half.
As Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and his team were heading into the locker room for halftime, he had the following to say on the referees:
McCarthy’s issues with the officials may come from a call near the end of the half. Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen caught a pass at the one yard line and it looked like the clock may have expired. While the time did run out on everyone’s screens, San Diego apparently called a timeout before this happened. Before the next play started, McCarthy had to sprint down the sidelines to call a timeout. This could be where his frustrations stem from as well.
There could have also been a call that the referees missed that McCarthy saw. The officials aren’t going to see everything, but of course, the head coach isn’t going to want to think like that.
With the second half just starting, we’ll have to see how McCarthy reacts towards the officials.
