The New York Jets defeated the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

The New York Jets continue to impress. Coming off a bye week – following a game in London in which they put boots to asses and helped the Dolphins hand Joe Philbin his walking papers – the Jets pounded on an overmatched Washington Redskins squad.

Chris Ivory continues to be a strong workhorse back for the J-E-T-S, as he averaged 7.3 yards per carry. His playmaking bedfellow Brandon Marshall also shredded the Skins, totaling 111 yards and a touchdown on only seven catches.

For Washington it was a second consecutive road loss, following last week’s effort against the Atlanta Falcons. Washington has been plucky this year, but they’ve had trouble closing out games. The third quarter was Washington’s undoing, as they gave up 17 points in the period and effectively worked their way out of the contest.

Three stars

Chris Ivory: 20 carries, 146 yards, 1 TD
