DeMeco Ryans made an incredible play to intercept Eli Manning

The Philadelphia Eagles allowed the New York Giants to score quickly to start Monday Night Football and, after a three-and-out, the Giants were driving again on their second drive of the game. However, veteran linebacker DeMeco Ryans put a stop to that all by himself.

Eli Manning dropped back and tried to hit tight end Larry Donnell on a short out route. It was a nicely thrown ball, but Donnell had some trouble tucking it away. That’s when Ryans got his arm in there to rip the ball away from Donnell for the timely interception:

That’s just a grown man pick by Ryans. It’s one thing to read the quarterback’s eyes and jump the route to make an interception. It’s an entirely different and more impressive thing for a linebacker to just break in off of tight coverage and straight-up take the ball from the receiver.

Ryans’ interception turned out to be a huge swing in the game as the Eagles were able to take possession and drive down the field to tie it up on Monday Night Football. Thankfully Ryans’ team was able to put together a big drive after he made such a big and unreal play on defense.
