With the USC Trojans looking to get a head coach to bring them back to prominence, they might look in the direction of Pete Carroll
Following the firing of Steve Sarkisian recently, the USC Trojans boosters and administration are on the lookout for yet another head coach. Furthermore, because this is USC, they’re on the lookout for someone that can get this program back to being the perennial national title contender they believe they can be. So, hey, why not look to the last man that took USC to the mountaintop, right?
Yes, on the surface it might be insane to think that Pete Carroll would make a return to the program, but apparently it’s something that’s not completely off the table.
Monday morning on the Dan Patrick Show, DP revealed that Carroll is indeed on the list of candidates that Trojans boosters would like to see run with one of the most storied programs in all of college football.
Dan said that one of the coaches on the USC alums/boosters wish list...Pete Carroll.

Carroll left USC for the Seattle Seahawks right at the time the sanctions were about to come down in Los Angeles, but all that animosity might be water under the bridge by now. While they might have been furious with Carroll at the time, winning trumps everything when it comes to a program like USC, and if they feel that Carroll can right the ship, then they would absolutely be more than happy to take him back.
Would Carroll make the jump back to the Trojans? Well, with the Seahawks currently at 2-4 on the year, you could begin to make the argument. Yet, at the same time, he does seem pretty happy with where he’s at right now, plus there’s a lot of season left to go for Seattle to get things back on track and make a run at a third straight Super Bowl appearance.
Either way, whether this happens or not, one thing that we can all agree on is that there are few things in life that are more entertaining than USC coaching searches.
