The New York Jets will be without wide receiver Quincy Enunwa for four games, as he was slapped with a suspension on Monday
New York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa found out on Monday that he will be ineligible for the next four games come up, as he was hit with a suspension by the league for a violation of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
Not long after the announcement of the suspension, the Jets released the following statement that supports the decision completely.
“We support and respect the NFL’s decision to suspend Quincy Enunwa,” a statement from the Jets reads, per Pro Football Talk. “The New York Jets share the NFL’s ongoing commitment to raising awareness of the frequency and impact of domestic and relationship violence, supporting survivors, and encouraging others to speak out and seek help.”
The second-year wide receiver has appeared in five games for the Jets this season, catching just eight passes for 94 yards with no touchdowns. He’s not exactly a pivotal part of the offense, but with the Jets still trying to compete in the AFC East still, it’s tough to lose anyone from the roster, especially a skill position player on the offensive side of the ball.
Enunwa was selected by the Jets in the in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Nebraska.
