The news is back on Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and the results are not completely promising
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota underwent an MRI on his knee that was injured on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins and the results are now back. Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt announced that his rookie signal caller suffered a sprained MCL and he will be evaluated further later this week.
Mariota, the rookie Heisman Trophy winner and No. 2 overall pick out of Oregon, suffered the injury as he was in the pocket and sideswiped by the rush. The hit didn’t look very pretty at the time and Mariota limped around much longer after that, signaling that something could have gone drastically wrong.
After the game was over, things got a little heated as Whisenhunt proclaimed that the hit on his quarterback by Olivier Vernon was “BS” football. This echoed the sentiment of a lot of other folks who saw it take place as well.
In his rookie season, Mariota 64 percent of his passes for 1,239 yards. He’s thrown for nine touchdowns and five interceptions, plus he’s rushed for 72 yards on 10 carries, although he has coughed up the ball five times.
